Is assembly required?

The tray requires assembly and installation underneath the chair. For detailed instructions on how to assemble and install, download the instruction manual below or visit the product’s support page.

What types of chairs work with the tray table?

The tray table is compatible with any four-legged couch, sofa, chair, lift chair or recliner. The front and rear legs of the chair must sit on top of the base pads to hold the tray in place. The base pads adjust in depth to fit chair legs 25.5 to 35.5 inches apart. If your chair does not have four legs, has a round base, or has legs with depths shorter than 25.5 inches, deeper than 35.5 inches, this tray will not work with your chair. Before purchasing, we recommend measuring the depth between the front and rear legs of the intended chair to make sure they fit in the 25.5-35.5 inches compatibility range.

Can I use the tray table without a chair or on a bed?

No, the tray is not intended for free-standing use or use on a bed. It must be installed underneath a couch or chair to be held in place.

How do I keep the tray level?

The tray may need to adjusted over time to keep the tray level. To level the tray: 1) Locate the two long leveling screws on the bottom of the tray table; 2) Identify the high side and the low side of the tray table; 3) Loosen the leveling screw on the high side of the tray; 4) Tighten the leveling screw on the low side of the tray; 5) Tighten both leveling screws equally when tray assembly is level.

What should I do if my tray is loose?

If the tray table ever becomes too loose over time or during assembly, remove the pivot arm from the bracket underneath the tray table and locate the nut within the tray assembly. Use a 17 mm socket to tighten. Re-attach the pivot arm and firmly tighten all hardware Note: Do not overtighten or the tray will be difficult to rotate

What accessories are available for the tray table?

The Independence Tray Table comes with a cup holder, utensil compartment and storage organizer. Other accessories, like an anti-slip mat, are available to purchase separately.
